New forms of vitamin D and iron now allowed in dietary supplements
Updated regulations for dietary supplements now allow manufacturers to produce products containing new forms of vitamin D and iron. Both ingredients had previously received a positive safety assessment from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The changes affect the permitted forms of these nutrients in commercially available supplements.
