Nolan's "The Odyssey" opens to $124.5M – Universal's best-ever R-rated debut

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey debuted to $124.5 million in the US, marking the best opening for a live-action film this year and a record R-rated opening for Universal Pictures. It ranks third overall for the year's opening weekends, behind only family animated films. The only R-rated movies to have opened higher are three Deadpool films. It is also Matt Damon's best opening weekend of his career.
