DOJ activates 'Alien Terrorist Removal Court' for first time in its 30-year history

The US Department of Justice has for the first time filed a petition with the Alien Terrorist Removal Court, a secretive tribunal established in 1996 that had never previously been used. The court was created to handle deportation cases involving foreign nationals suspected of terrorism. Its activation signals a significant hardening of the administration's immigration enforcement approach.
