16-year-old Niżyńska wins U18 European high jump gold — Poland's first in Rieti

16-year-old Karina Niżyńska of MKS MOS Wrocław won the high jump gold medal at the U18 European Championships in Rieti, Italy. She cleared four heights cleanly, and after unexpectedly losing the lead at 1.82 m, she responded with successful third attempts at 1.82 m and 1.84 m to claim the title. It is Poland's first gold medal at these championships.
