Poles dream of living in Alicante but face a harsh reality check

Małgorzata Choryńska, a Polish real-estate agent based in Spain, warns Poles against idealising life in Alicante. As she tells Newsweek, tourists spend one or two weeks enjoying the sun and wine, then wrongly assume that owning a property there means living that holiday lifestyle permanently. The reality of emigration — language barriers, bureaucracy and living costs — often clashes sharply with those holiday impressions.
