Cuban dissident artist Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara arrived in Miami to a hero's welcome after completing a five-year prison sentence in Cuba. He co-founded the San Isidro Movement, a Havana-based collective of artists, writers, and musicians protesting the Cuban government. Arrested during anti-government demonstrations in 2021, he was convicted of public disorder, contempt, and disrespect for national symbols, and accepted exile after the United States granted him humanitarian parole.
