EU bans destruction of unsold clothes, shoes and accessories

New European Union rules have come into force prohibiting large companies from destroying unsold clothing, footwear and accessories. The regulations are designed to cut waste in the fashion industry, where millions of items are routinely disposed of each year. Smaller companies will be given additional time to comply with the new requirements.
