Nowa Lewica to block Nawrocki's referendum on EU climate policy

Senate Deputy Speaker Magdalena Biejat announced that Nowa Lewica will not agree to President Karol Nawrocki's proposed referendum on EU climate policy. Biejat argued the initiative is designed to stoke sentiment for Poland leaving the European Union. A referendum motion will be submitted, but is expected to face resistance in the Senate.
