High Schoolers Race 630 Miles Across Texas in Solar Cars They Built Themselves

On July 19th, dozens of high school teams will set off from Fort Worth to Fort Stockton, Texas, in a gruelling five-day, 630-mile road race. The vehicles run entirely on solar power and are designed and built by the students themselves using off-the-shelf components and 3D-printed parts. The winner is the team that accumulates the most miles powered solely by sunlight.
