Pluto shows evidence of massive ice avalanches from 2 km height

Scientists have discovered evidence of enormous geological catastrophes on Pluto — massive ice avalanches that fell from heights of around 2 kilometres. The findings suggest the dwarf planet was once the scene of dramatic surface processes. The discovery was made using data collected by the New Horizons probe.
