NBP: value of cashless payment fraud up 47% in Q1 2026, averaging 2,154 PLN per transaction
According to the National Bank of Poland (NBP), the number of fraudulent cashless transactions rose by 3.4% quarter-on-quarter in Q1 2026, while their total value surged by 46.8%. The average value of a single fraudulent transaction reached 2,154.40 PLN. The NBP highlights that bank transfers, rather than payment cards, are now the primary vehicle for financial fraud.
