AI model builds fully consistent languages from scratch, inspired by Tolkien

A team led by Morris Alper at the University of Miami has developed an AI system that constructs new languages step by step — from phonetics and word formation through to syntax. The system repurposes the structural knowledge large language models gain from natural language training to generate entirely new, internally consistent languages.
