São Tomé and Príncipe holds presidential election as incumbent seeks second term
Around 142,000 registered voters in São Tomé and Príncipe went to the polls on Sunday in a presidential election. Incumbent president Carlos Vila Nova, running as an independent, is seeking a second term against a candidate from his former party. The tiny African nation, one of the continent's least populous, is seeking to strengthen its democratic credentials.
