Top court: 800+ child benefit need not be split automatically in shared custody

Poland's Supreme Administrative Court (NSA) has issued a landmark ruling on the 800+ child benefit in shared-custody cases. The court found that when only one parent applied, and both parents agreed that the full payment would go to one of them for the child's needs, the benefit does not have to be split automatically in half. The ruling changes the existing practice of benefit-granting authorities.
