Polish Sejm elects Mateusz Szpytma as IPN head — Senate may block it

The Polish Sejm elected Dr Mateusz Szpytma as head of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), with votes from PiS, Konfederacja, PSL and part of the Poland 2050 club. Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared the nomination will not pass the Senate. The vote has triggered a political dispute between the ruling coalition and the opposition.
