Bitcoin Japan raises $60M to finally buy bitcoin after prior funds went to SpaceX and Figure AI

Bitcoin Japan, a company that currently holds no bitcoin despite its name, plans to raise $60 million through EVO Fund to finally purchase the cryptocurrency. A previous fundraising round in December 2024 instead funded stakes in SpaceX and Figure AI, which the firm describes as its two AI infrastructure investments. The new capital is intended specifically for bitcoin acquisition.
