Corrimony Chambered Cairn, nestled in the Glen Urquhart area of the Scottish Highlands, is a striking example of a Bronze Age burial site, thought to date back more than 4,000 years. This cairn is part of the Clava type, a style commonly associated with the region, and it offers a glimpse into ancient funerary practices and beliefs.

The cairn features a circular stone structure about 15 meters in diameter, with a passage leading to a central burial chamber. Its entrance is aligned to the southwest, possibly indicating astronomical or ritual significance. The chamber, once covered by a large capstone adorned with cup marks, was likely used for the burial of high-status individuals. Excavations in 1952 uncovered the outline of a single crouched burial and a bone pin, though the acidic soil had long since decomposed any human remains. The outer ring of eleven standing stones enhances the site’s visual and cultural impact, adding to its enigmatic charm​.

Visitors can access the cairn via a footbridge and a short walk from a nearby parking area. The surrounding Corrimony Nature Reserve complements the experience, offering opportunities to explore native Caledonian forest and spot rare birds like black grouse and golden eagles​.
