Your personal data is being sold – here's how to remove it from the internet
Data brokers run a multi-billion-dollar industry by packaging and selling personal information — including phone numbers, home addresses, email addresses and family connections — to marketers, insurers and hackers. Apple's privacy tools in Safari and Mail block some tracking but cannot erase data already held in hundreds of broker databases. To remove your data, you can manually submit opt-out requests to individual brokers or use paid automated services such as DeleteMe or Incogni. Requests need to be repeated regularly as brokers continually refresh their databases.
