US and allies plan alternative shipping routes bypassing Strait of Hormuz
The US and five other countries are developing a program to shift maritime transport to alternative routes bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, according to Syria's state news agency SANA. The initiative is expected to be fully operational within two years. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical oil shipping chokepoints.
