US and 5 Nations Develop Alternative Shipping Routes to Bypass Strait of Hormuz
The United States and five other countries are developing a programme to redirect maritime shipping away from the Strait of Hormuz to alternative routes. According to Syrian state news agency SANA, the initiative is expected to be fully operational within two years. The project aims to reduce dependence on the strategic strait, which is controlled by Iran.
