McIlroy chips in for eagle as Fox eyes record 61 at The Open

In the third round of The Open 2025 at Royal Birkdale, Rory McIlroy chipped in for eagle to boost his round. New Zealand's Ryan Fox is on a superb run and stands on the 18th green with a putt for a round of 61, which would be a record-breaking score. His approach from a fairway bunker on 18 clipped the very top of the revetted lip before landing on the green in a stroke of fortune. A long putt remains for the historic mark.
