Prenatal estrogen linked to larger brain size in newborn boys
A study of 225 newborns suggests prenatal estrogen may have played a role in the evolution of larger human brains. Boys whose finger-length ratios indicated higher prenatal estrogen exposure tended to have larger head circumferences, which strongly correlate with brain size. The same link was not observed in girls.
