Science still cannot pinpoint the origins of the Slavic peoples

The origins of the Slavic peoples remain one of the unresolved questions of historical science. Slavs are today the largest group of European Indo-Europeans, yet researchers have not conclusively determined where they came from or where their original homeland was. The subject is particularly sensitive in Poland for reasons of national identity and history.
