Infantino set to escape IOC sanctions over Balogun red card affair
FIFA president Gianni Infantino is expected to face no sanctions from the International Olympic Committee despite a formal complaint filed by human rights group FairSquare over his dealings with Donald Trump in the Folarin Balogun affair. Trump called Infantino to request a review of Balogun's ban ahead of the USA's last-16 tie against Belgium. FIFA's disciplinary committee subsequently issued an unprecedented ruling suspending the ban for 12 months.
