Ancient Egyptian princesses were armed warriors, study of 4,000-year-old bones reveals

A study published in "Frontiers in Environmental Archaeology" has revealed that Egyptian princesses from the Middle Kingdom period (c. 2055–1650 BC), buried in the necropolis at Dahshur, were interred with bows, daggers and clubs. The remains were discovered in the late 19th century by Jacques de Morgan but spent over a century forgotten in wooden crates in the basement of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. A new research project launched in 2020 produced results that exceeded experts' expectations.
