Europe warms twice as fast as global average – air-conditioner sales surge

The World Meteorological Organization warns that Europe is warming more than twice as fast as the global average. Ageing building stock not designed for high temperatures and historically low rates of home air conditioning are compounding the problem. In response to recurring heatwaves, sales of air-conditioning units across Europe are surging.
