Missing energy certificate when selling property risks a 5,000 PLN fine

Selling or renting out a property in Poland without an energy performance certificate is illegal and can result in a fine of up to 5,000 PLN. The law requires that sellers and landlords hand over the document to the buyer or tenant. Owners are advised to obtain the certificate before completing any transaction.
