Polish medical consultants worked with pharma firm while assessing metamizole safety

Poland's national and regional medical consultants worked with a pharmaceutical company at the same time they were issuing safety opinions on metamizole, an active ingredient in the company's painkillers. Metamizole is sold over the counter in Poland, but has been banned in many other countries due to health risks. A question about a potential conflict of interest has been submitted to the Ministry of Health.
