Darß's ornate front doors in Prerow, Germany – a UNESCO World Heritage gem

The Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, is home to richly decorated, brightly painted front doors dating back to the 18th century. Since 2018 they have been officially listed as UNESCO World Heritage. The small town of Prerow features a dedicated Front Doors Path where visitors can admire some of the finest examples. The peninsula itself was formed by the joining of three former islands — Fischland, Darß and Zingst.
