EU Bans Single-Use Sauce and Sugar Sachets in Restaurants from 12 August

From 12 August 2025, new EU rules will begin phasing out single-use condiment sachets — including ketchup, mayonnaise, sugar, coffee and spice packets — from restaurants, hotels and food outlets. The regulations aim to reduce waste and boost the use of recyclable packaging. This marks the first stage of broader changes targeting the catering sector.
