Taco Bell Lettuce Linked to Cyclospora Outbreak Infecting 1,644 in 5 US States

US health officials linked shredded iceberg lettuce at Taco Bell to an outbreak of Cyclospora cayetanensis infections. Since May 1, there have been 1,644 confirmed cases across Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia and Michigan, with 94 hospitalizations and no deaths. The CDC is separately investigating over 5,100 additional Cyclospora cases nationwide not yet tied to this outbreak.
