Danny Boyle's "Ink" to open Venice Film Festival 2026
Danny Boyle's film "Ink" will open the 83rd Venice International Film Festival — the first of his films to headline the opening ceremony on the Lido. The story is set in 1969 and follows Rupert Murdoch (Guy Pearce) and Larry Lamb (Jack O'Connell) as they launch tabloid newspaper "The Sun". Claire Foy also stars. Boyle describes the film as the origin story of modern media, predating Fox News, clickbait and social media by decades.
