Sony's Crunchyroll Drops Physical Blu-ray Releases
Sony's anime streaming platform Crunchyroll is dropping physical Blu-ray releases, continuing the company's broader retreat from physical media. The move follows PlayStation's controversial announcement to phase out physical game releases by 2028, which sparked widespread backlash. Some game developers, including those behind Wolverine and God of War: Laufey, have since pledged to still release physical disc versions.
