Back in 2025, Sweeney teamed up with Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar for The Housemaid , the erotic thriller based on the novel of the same name by Frieda McFadden . The Housemaid grossed over $400 million at the box office against a modest $35 million budget, making it one of the most profitable movies of 2025. It didn’t take Lionsgate long to confirm that a sequel to the film, tentatively titled The Housemaid’s Secret , was already in the works, with Sydney Sweeney confirmed to return as Millie. Seyfried and Sklenar are not expected back, but Kirsten Dunst has been cast in a key role in the sequel film.
