Cuban dissident artist Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara cleared to travel to US
Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, a prominent Cuban dissident artist designated a prisoner of conscience by Amnesty International, has been cleared to travel to the United States. He was sentenced in 2022 to five years in prison for insulting national symbols and disturbing public order following the 2021 protests in Cuba. His whereabouts had been unknown after his sentence ended last week; his official Facebook page confirmed the travel clearance.
