Aspen Institute: three-quarters of Americans lack the wealth needed to prosper

About three-quarters of Americans do not have the net worth needed to prosper in today's economy, according to a new benchmark developed by the Aspen Institute. The report sets out the wealth thresholds required to "get ahead" at different life stages — in one's 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond. The findings point to a deepening wealth inequality crisis in the United States.
