Robinhood has announced plans to onboard 10 million casual retail users onto decentralised finance (DeFi), betting that its large customer base is its key competitive advantage. Early on-chain activity on the platform is dominated by memecoins rather than mainstream financial products. The company's original vision of asset tokenisation remains a small fraction of actual usage.
