Wars in Congo, Sudan and Yemen are fuelling deadly disease outbreaks

Armed conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan and Yemen are dramatically worsening infectious disease outbreaks. The Ebola virus is spreading in eastern DRC, while rapidly advancing cholera is hitting Sudan and Yemen. Researchers note that outbreaks in conflict zones are far deadlier than in peaceful regions, as war destroys sanitation systems and medical infrastructure.
