European Public Prosecutor's Office is independent — except when targeting ruling party politicians
A commentary warns that the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) in Poland enjoys only as much independence as the current ruling party allows. If the EPPO is seen to avoid investigating ruling coalition politicians, that de facto limitation will persist even after a future change of government. True prosecutorial independence requires political will, not just formal guarantees.
