Herbert and Burns both shoot 62 to equal men's major golf record

Australia's Lucas Herbert and America's Sam Burns both carded eight-under-par 62s at The Open, equalling the lowest round ever recorded in men's major championship golf. Herbert came agonisingly close to breaking the record outright, reaching nine under through 17 holes before a closing bogey denied him what would have been the first ever 61 in a men's major.
