Study finds people's faces carry subtle cues that match their first name
Researchers combining human participant tests with machine learning algorithms have found that adult faces contain features that allow matching to a person's first name at above-chance accuracy. The scientists theorise that a name shapes how others treat a person from birth, and that social feedback gradually moulds facial appearance — a phenomenon they liken to a "Dorian Gray effect."
