GameStop CEO unfazed by PlayStation ending disc production — software is just 18% of revenue
GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen said PlayStation's decision to stop manufacturing physical discs in January 2028 is "totally, totally irrelevant" to his company. Software sales now account for just 18% of GameStop's revenue, as the retailer has shifted its focus to collectibles and trading cards. Trade groups in the UK have reacted far more sharply to Sony's move than the once disc-dependent retailer.
