Cats licking each other may be a passive-aggressive territorial move, new study finds
A new study suggests that when cats lick each other, the behaviour is not always a friendly or affectionate gesture. Researchers found it may instead be a passive-aggressive manoeuvre used by cats to claim personal space from other felines. The findings add to a growing body of research revealing the social complexity of domestic cat behaviour.
