Tusk to Block Szpytma's Nomination as IPN Head in Senate

Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the Civic Coalition will not support the nomination of Dr Mateusz Szpytma as head of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), citing historians who described him as "one of the faces of the extreme politicisation of the IPN." Deputy PM Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said he had grounds to back Szpytma but doubts the candidate will ultimately be appointed.
