EU Proposes Half of CO2 Auction Revenue Must Fund Decarbonisation
The European Commission proposed on Friday that EU member states allocate at least half of revenues from CO2 emissions permit auctions to decarbonisation activities. The Commission also announced an increase in the pool of free ETS allowances for energy-intensive industries. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk welcomed the proposal, calling it another positive response to Poland's expectations from the EU.
