Storm Cerry batters Germany, heads for Poland with 100 km/h winds

Storm system Cerry swept through Germany on Thursday evening, triggering hundreds of emergency callouts, flooded streets and at least one serious incident in which a cyclist was crushed by a fallen tree. Winds exceeding 100 km/h are forecast to strike further parts of Germany on Friday before the storm system moves towards Poland.
