Mateusz Szpytma elected IPN president with unlikely coalition of votes

The Polish Sejm elected Mateusz Szpytma as president of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN). The post had been vacant since Karol Nawrocki was sworn in as President of Poland. Szpytma secured the position despite opposition from Civic Coalition, backed by PiS, Konfederacja, PSL and a significant part of the Poland 2050 club.
