EU Commission proposes half of CO2 auction revenue fund decarbonisation

The European Commission proposed on Friday that member states allocate at least 50% of revenues from CO2 emissions allowance auctions to decarbonisation activities. Currently only 5% of those revenues are directed to such purposes. The proposal aims to significantly boost funding for the EU's green transition.
