EU Commission wants 50% of ETS revenues for decarbonisation — currently just 5%

The European Commission on Friday proposed a reform of the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) requiring member states to direct at least 50% of ETS auction revenues towards decarbonisation investments. The Commission estimates that currently only 5% of those revenues are spent on climate-related goals. The reform aims to accelerate the energy transition across the EU.
