Polish parliament rejects president's bill to cut VAT on electricity
The Polish Sejm voted on Friday to reject a presidential bill that would have lowered VAT on electricity to reduce household and business energy costs. The proposal envisaged funding the tax cut partly through revenues from CO2 emission allowance sales under the EU ETS system. As a result, no legislative reduction in electricity bills is currently on the table.
